Enlist in Our Unit

If you're over the age of 18 and share our passion for history, we'd like to hear from you. The first step to entering reenacting is creating the right kit. Whether you're building a new impression or looking to upgrade an existing one, this guide will review the items acceptable in our unit.

Begin with the Basics

If you're new to reenacting, items on this list are essential for creating an accurate impression:

  • M1 Helmet*

  • Garrison cap with blue piping

  • White t-shirt or tank top

  • M37 Enlisted wool shirt and trousers

  • M41 Field jacket

  • Ranger diamond patches**

  • Trouser belt with open faced buckle

  • Jump boots

  • Ammunition pouches (may vary)

  • M23 Cartridge belt or pistol belt

* To join our unit, your helmet should have an orange diamond with a black "5" in the center painted on the back. Contact us for help.

** Patches should be sewn on the left shoulder of both the M37 shirt and M41 jacket and centered one inch down from the seam

  • M10 Canteen, canteen cup, and cover

  • M28 Haversack and mess tin

  • M23 First aid pouch and bandage

  • T Handle or M43 Folding shovel and cover

  • U.S. Army cot (wooden frame w/ canvas cover)

  • Olive drab wool blanket

  • Sleeping bag

  • U.S. Army duffel bag

  • Footlocker

To enhance or add more authenticity to your portrayal, consider adding these items to your kit.
